Lao Zhao from China
I worked in Beijing for China Mobile. When I came to Sweden, finding a job was a challenge because of the language. However, cooking has always been my passion so I joined Gastronaut. Now cooking is what I do for a living!
I practice the lost art of handmade noodles and hand-crafted buns. What makes hand-crafting unique is that I can feel how the ingredients react even to the slightest changes in temperature and humidity. This allows me to adapt the recipe accordingly and achieve great texture and flavour every time.
I hope you enjoy my food as much as I enjoy making it!
Naqshab from Pakistan
As a proud Pathan - a Pakistani tribe that is famous for its hospitality - it is in my blood to serve my guests wholeheartedly and with great food.
Good cooking comes to me because of my culture where good food is considered as expression of love and appreciation for others. Pathan hospitality means giving a part of you, your time, your craftsmanship, your passion through food that will provide a nurturing, warm and joyful feeling.
The food I cook at home is far different than any subcontinental restaurant in the West. When restaurants try to adopt a European style, I focus on cooking original and delicious flavours that actually represent my people, my culture, my values of hospitality with high quality ingredients.
Vaso from Greece
As a Northern Greek, I am proud of my food but I never stop trying to make it even better. I am very, very strict about the freshness and quality of the ingredients I use. My definition of a good meal is when rich flavours sit light in your belly.
The dishes I bring you are staples in most Greek homes, and cannot be found in Greek restaurants. The reason is that our food culture evolves primarily around homemade food (mostly vegan and vegetarian), which is higher quality and completely different than the meat-based food one gets at restaurants and taverns. This has to do mostly with the love, time and craftsmanship we like to put into cooking at home, as food is the most important social activity in Greece. I cook from scratch every single day for my family and it is my greatest joy to invite friends over for a bite!
I hope you enjoy the true flavours of Greece!
Qi from China
I developed a stronger passion for cooking after moving to Sweden because I could not find the real Chinese food that I missed from home. The food in Chinese restaurants abroad is not representative of Chinese food, so I had to make it myself.
I focus on cooking original Shanghai food with the flavours that live in my memory from when I was a child. I love cooking for others because I want to give people an authentic Chinese experience and flavours from my hometown, which are impossible to find here. People here are missing out on really good food!
I truly hope you enjoy my authentic Chinese food experience!
